Come to Victory Park

On 19 June, when the new meadows of Uzvaras Park are filled with poppy and daisy flowers, everyone in Riga and guests of the city are invited to enjoy the magic of the summer solstice at the "Jāņa sēta" event in the territory of Uzvaras Park! All visitors will be welcomed by the host of Jānis sēta - the attractive event host and folklorist Ēriks Zeps. The event will offer the opportunity to learn Midsummer songs, fire stacking, Midsummer games, the meaning of Midsummer herbs, as well as to learn how to weave a gorgeous Midsummer herbal wreath.

General Radziņa Embankment - 1st place in the annual show 'The Best Building in Latvia 2023' in the nomination LANDSCAPE BUILDING

The new public outdoor space created within Rail Baltica - the square between Ģenerāļa Radziņa krastmala, Spīķeri, Dzelzceļa embankment and the Central Market fish pavilion - was highly appreciated and won 1st place in the annual show. The concept of the square and the bicycle/pedestrian ramp is by Linda Zaļā. Technical solutions according to the concept were developed by BRD projekts, Projekts 3, BM-projekts, AS Ceļuprojekts. Discover the new Uzvaras park with Linda Zaļā!

The Danish Cultural Institute invites you to join the Danish garden party in Victory Park, the Left Bank Festival, as well as an educational walk and talk in the renovated Victory Park under the guidance of its landscape architect Linda Zala (Zala Landscape Architects). Children are especially invited to this walk. Linda Zala and her office are the authors of the new concept for Victory Park. Zala Landscape Architects' portfolio includes award-winning public landscaping projects as well as private gardens. Uzvaras Park, which until recently was such a vivid reminder of the Soviet occupation, is becoming a green and scenic place where families can relax, spend leisure time, play sports and enjoy cultural activities. And one of the reasons why life in Denmark is considered so comfortable and pleasant is the Danish need to create an environment that makes people feel good. Green public spaces, opportunities for both children and adults, accessibility, respite from the daily rush - seemingly self-evident but often underestimated needs. How does all this help us to look after our environment and feel better, while preserving values for future generations? Is the development path of Victory Park similar to the one in Denmark?
